Coach Bass

Privacy Policy

Effective September 26, 2026

This policy is issued by Bass, based in Alabama, which operates CoachBass.com, a hitter-development service for baseball and fastpitch softball players and the families who manage them. It explains, in plain English, what information the service collects, how it is used, and the choices you have.

Information We Collect

We collect the information you provide to operate your account and develop your hitter:

  • Account information — your name, email address, and sign-in credentials.
  • Player information — the hitter details you add, such as name, birth date, sport, batting/throwing side, level, positions, goals, and an optional photo. Players do not sign in; they are records managed from an adult's account.
  • Hitting information you supply — for example, the answers you give about your hitter when requesting an evaluation, and at-bat or training details you log.
  • Uploaded video and media — swing videos and other media you submit for evaluation, training, or your hitter's record.
  • Development records — the evaluations, hitter profiles, development plans, assigned drills, training logs, and progress history the service creates for your hitter.
  • Membership and purchase information — records of your memberships, orders, and entitlements. Payments are processed by Stripe; CoachBass.com does not receive or store your full card number.
  • Basic usage information — limited, first-party event data such as which page an action happened on and, where present, the link source that brought you to a page. Our own event capture does not record your IP address or build advertising profiles.
  • Ask Coach Bass question submissions — if you submit a question for the Ask Coach Bass show, we collect the question itself, the categories you choose (who you are, sport, topic, and optionally a player age group), your email address (required with every submission; kept private, never displayed publicly, and not added to marketing lists without your separate consent), and — only if you choose to provide it — a first name. Submitting requires your permission for Coach Bass to discuss the question publicly on the show and related Coach Bass content; a question may be edited for length or clarity and may be discussed anonymously. Submitted questions are used to select and answer questions for the show and are not published as-submitted with your contact details; an email address you provide is never displayed publicly. Please do not include a minor's full name or other identifying details in a question.

We do not ask children to provide information directly (see Children below).

How Information Is Used

Information is used to:

  • operate CoachBass.com and your account;
  • provide hitter evaluations from the video you submit;
  • create and maintain your hitter's development plan, drills, and training;
  • maintain your hitter's evaluation and development history over time;
  • operate memberships and purchases;
  • improve how the service works;
  • protect the service and its users from misuse and security problems; and
  • communicate with you about the service where a communication channel exists.

Analytics, Cookies, and Similar Technologies

CoachBass.com uses a small amount of browser storage for necessary application function (such as your sign-in session and your saved privacy choices).

With your consent, CoachBass.com records its own website analytics, on its own servers: which pages are viewed, the site that referred you, a general device category, and your approximate location at city level, worked out from your connection and never stored more precisely than that. A visit identifier is kept in your browser for the visit and is not used to recognise you across visits. Analytics does not tell us your address or precise location, and we use no advertising trackers. After you sign in, analytics activity may be associated with your account so we can understand how the product is used; your email address is not used as an analytics identifier. Session recording is not enabled. Visit records older than 90 days are reduced to daily totals.

You choose whether analytics and marketing technologies run, via the consent prompt and the Privacy Choices control in the footer. Declining does not change how the product works.

Marketing Email and Consent

Creating an account is not marketing consent. Service communication (about your account, purchases, or evaluations) is separate from marketing communication.

If you opt in to marketing email, we store your consent with its date and where you gave it, and we share the profile information needed to send you email — such as your email address, first name, and membership level — with Klaviyo, our email/marketing provider. Every marketing email includes an unsubscribe link, and you can change your preference any time in Account settings. We do not share hitter video or evaluation content with marketing providers.

Product Reviews

If you submit a product review, the review content, your rating, and the display name you choose (or a neutral customer label if you leave it blank) are published publicly after moderation. Your email address is never displayed with a review. A "Verified Customer" label appears only when our own purchase records confirm it. Please don't include personal information you don't want public in a review.

Player Video

Families submit hitting video so it can be evaluated and used for the hitter's development. Uploaded customer video is stored privately, is not given public links, and is not automatically public.

Uploaded customer video does not become marketing, social, or example content. Any public or promotional use of identifiable player media happens only with appropriate permission from the family.

Children and Minor Athletes

Many hitters using Coach Bass are minors. Accounts are created and managed by adults: a parent or legal guardian should create the account, manage the player record, and submit any information or video for a minor athlete. Children should not provide personal information to the service without a parent or guardian involved.

If you are a parent or legal guardian and believe information about your child was submitted improperly, contact Coach Bass so it can be reviewed (see Contact below).

Service Providers

CoachBass.com runs on established service providers who process information on its behalf: website hosting and infrastructure (Vercel), database, authentication, and private media storage (Supabase), payment processing (Stripe), and the technology provider used to run automatic video analysis (Anthropic). These providers process information to deliver their part of the service.

Card payments are handled by Stripe on Stripe's systems. CoachBass.com does not store full payment card numbers.

How Information Is Shared

CoachBass.com does not sell personal information as part of operating the service. Information is shared only: with the service providers above so the service can run; when you direct or authorize it; when required by law or legal process; to protect the safety, rights, or security of users or the service; or as part of a business transaction such as a merger or acquisition, in which case this policy would continue to apply to previously collected information until updated.

Data Security

Reasonable safeguards protect your information: private, access-controlled media storage; authentication on member data; and access rules that keep one family's records separate from another's. No internet service can promise perfect security, but protecting your family's information — especially player video — is a core design requirement of this service.

Data Retention

Development is the point of Coach Bass, so your hitter's evaluations, plans, and history are kept while your account is active in order to provide the service over time. Information is otherwise retained as needed for legitimate business and legal purposes, and handled in line with requests you make about your own data. A finalized retention schedule will be published as part of this policy when complete.

Two periods are already fixed: a Free Hitter Scan video is deleted after 90 days, or sooner at your request, and website visit records older than 90 days are reduced to daily totals.

Your Choices and Requests

You can review and update your account and player information from your account pages. You may also ask Coach Bass to correct or delete information associated with your account; such requests are handled individually rather than through an automated control. Requests about a minor athlete's information should come from the managing parent or guardian.

Changes to This Policy

This policy will be updated as the service grows. Material changes will be posted on this page with an updated effective date, and continued use of the service after a change means the updated policy applies.
