Strength Development: a year-round strength program for baseball and fastpitch

Strength Development is a 52-week, year-round strength program for baseball and fastpitch players, delivered in the Coach Bass app.

Up to three workouts a week are built for the athlete's stage, equipment and week of the year, with a readiness check before every workout. It is training guidance for athletes: it does not diagnose, treat or rehabilitate anything, and it does not promise a result.

Sport: Baseball and Fastpitch. Each sport is its own edition, bought separately; one edition never unlocks the other.

$179 a year, renews annually until you cancel · sold separately from the Coach Bass membership

Coach Bass Strength Development cover

Who Strength Development is for

  • Players who need year-round physical development.
  • Young athletes who train without a plan, or follow a program that never changes.
  • Families training at home or in a gym: choose Bodyweight Only, Home Setup or Full Gym, and change it later.

A year of strength, in order

Many young athletes train without a plan, or follow a program that never changes. Strength Development gives baseball and fastpitch players a year-long structure that progresses as they earn it, adjusts to how they feel each day, and keeps a record of the year.

What the year includes

  • Follow a structured 52-week plan with up to three workouts a week
  • Train with the equipment you have: Bodyweight Only, Home Setup or Full Gym
  • Move up a level in each movement family when the athlete has earned it
  • Check in at five checkpoints with a short movement video
  • See levels, workouts and checkpoints in Progress and History
  • Start Training Year 2 from where the athlete finished

How the training year works

Length
A 52-week training year. When it is complete, Training Year 2 continues from where the athlete finished.
Workouts
Up to three a week (156 across the 52-week year), matched to the athlete's stage, equipment and week of the year.
Readiness
Before each workout: Normal, Tired, Sore or Pain. Tired shortens the workout, Sore lightens it, and Pain pauses training for the day.
Progression
Eleven movement families. The athlete moves up a level in each one when it has been earned.
Checkpoints
Five across the year, each with one short movement video stored privately on your account.
Equipment
Bodyweight Only, Home Setup or Full Gym.
Access
An annual subscription: 12 months of access to one sport edition on one family account, renewing each year until you cancel.

Eleven movement families, five stages

The athlete trains squat, hinge, single-leg and lunge, push, pull, trunk, anti-rotation, controlled rotation, grip, carries, and jumping and landing, through stages earned in order:

  1. Foundation — Learn the patterns and build the habit. Technique before load.
  2. Build — Add repeatable loading to patterns that are already clean.
  3. Athletic Strength — Heavier, more athletic strength work with intent.
  4. Performance Strength — Higher training demand for athletes who have earned it.
  5. Advanced High School — The most demanding stage, for experienced high school athletes.

Strength in the CoachBass system

Strength Development is the one annual program. It is separate from the Coach Bass membership, which does not unlock it, and buying it does not include the membership.

The free Hitter Strength Library is a separate exercise reference, and the Strength Manual is a standalone download. Strength Development is the full 52-week system, with progression, checkpoints, tracking and a Training Year 2.

Strength Development questions

Is Strength Development part of the Coach Bass membership?

No. It is a separate annual subscription. The membership does not unlock Strength Development, and buying Strength Development does not give you the membership.

What exactly do I pay for?

$179 a year buys 12 months of access to one sport edition on one family account. It renews automatically each year until you cancel.

Is a training year the same as my billing year?

No. Your 52-week training year starts when you set up your athlete. Your 12 months of access starts when you pay. They are tracked separately, so if you wait to set up, that time still counts against your paid year. Set up when you are ready to train.

Can my athlete do Baseball and Fastpitch?

Each sport is its own edition, bought separately. A family can hold both. The sports are kept apart so one edition never unlocks the other.

Do I need a gym?

No. Choose Bodyweight Only, Home Setup or Full Gym when you set up, and change it later if your equipment changes.

What does the readiness check do?

Before each workout you say how the athlete feels: Normal, Tired, Sore or Pain. Tired shortens the workout, Sore lightens it, and Pain pauses training for the day with a note to talk to a parent or guardian, a coach or a medical professional.

Is a video required?

Each checkpoint asks for one short movement video, stored privately on your account. The optional measures are only recorded if you choose to do them.

What happens if I cancel?

Cancel in Manage billing and you keep access through the end of the period you paid for. After that, your history, progress and checkpoints stay readable, and you can renew to continue training.

Can the same athlete train more than one year?

Yes. Training Year 2 continues from where the athlete finished, with earned levels carried forward, and Year 1 stays in History.

Is this medical advice or a guarantee?

No. Strength Development is training guidance for athletes. It does not diagnose, treat or rehabilitate anything, and it does not promise a result. If something hurts, stop and talk to a parent or guardian, a coach or a medical professional.
